Congratulations to this year’s 2012 UGA Miss Black & Gold, Tasia Monet Burroughs!
Miss Burroughs is 2nd year Public Relations major from McDonough, GA. Tasia participates in several on-campus activities including serving as the Junior Account Executive for the Creative Consultants Chick-fil-A Account, Head of the PRSSA Diversity Committee, UGA Hoop Girl, UGA Club Competition Cheerleader, and Public Relations Intern for the Hannah’s Haven Foundation and works as a Gameday Host.
When she is not diligently studying, Tasia enjoys enjoys cheering, dancing and spending time with her family. Her favorite song in the entire world is “Zoom” by The Commodores, because it provides a loving memory of her grandmother. Tasia is an aspiring publicist, who plans to work with various nonprofit organizations around the world.
As Miss Black & Gold, Tasia plans to raise awareness in the community about the Alcohol Anonymous Family Group, in hopes that she can help provide hope and strength to families and friends of problem drinkers. Her platform is entitled “Attacking Alcoholism”.
The Zeta Pi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is proud and excited to work with 2012 UGA Miss Black & Gold, Tasia Burroughs, to see her plan into action. We look forward to her competition at the district and national level. On behalf of the brothers of Zeta Pi, congratulations Tasia!
The Zeta Pi Alphas teamed with The Beautiful Ladies of Zeta Tau Alpha to perform in this year’s Annual Unity Step Show for UGA HEROs. Last year the event raised over $1500 and this year’s turnout was no difference! After rehearsing and putting in weeks of hard work, The ladies took home second place honors! We are very proud of the effort they put in to make their show look as great as it did. They even manage to master the GRIT and many of the basic stroll movements! Let’s hear it for ZTA!
The Greek Unity Step show is an event in which Panhellenic Sororities are taught by members of the NPHC community how to step and perform a routine in competition against other Panhellenic sororities with the overall goal of promoting Greek Unity amongst the councils on campus.
